Air Liquide SA, Chevron Corp., LyondellBasell and Uniper SE could “potentially advance” a hydrogen and ammonia facility on the Gulf Coast to support global industrial decarbonization.

Neither a timeline to proceed, site location or estimated costs were provided. However, the evaluation would “cover the end-to-end energy value chain, utilizing each participant’s technical expertise in production, operational experience, storage, distribution and export logistics,” the partners said.

Collectively, the consortium would bring expertise in air separation technology, hydrogen technologies, lower carbon intensity and renewable natural gas, carbon capture and storage (CCS), electrolysis-based technologies and petrochemicals.
