Coming off a steep decline in the previous session, natural gas futures clawed back a couple cents in early trading Tuesday even as forecasters continued to point to a bearish temperature outlook into late March.

After dropping 11.6 cents in the previous settle, the April Nymex contract was trading 1.9 cents higher to $2.503/MMBtu at around 8:50 a.m. ET.

NatGasWeather noted an absence of any colder trends from the major weather models overnight.
