February Nymex natural gas futures finished the truncated holiday week between Christmas and New Year’s down 4.3 cents as weather forecasts suggested light heating demand deeper into winter.

The front-month contract settled the regular trading session at $2.514/MMBtu. February futures found an early low at $2.489 and moved as high as $2.561 in the final trading session of the week and year.

NGI’s Spot Gas National Avg. was up 10.5 cents at $2.275 for a revised package for natural gas flow Monday, Jan. 1, through Tuesday, Jan. 2, to accommodate for business closures through the extended New Year’s holiday weekend.
