The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) has announced another funding opportunity of $24.5 million to improve domestic manufacturing in modern electricity infrastructure in hopes of improving climate solutions.

As part of the Biden Administration’s goal of net-zero carbon emissions by 2050, the DOE’s Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy’s Advanced Manufacturing Office will provide funding to back research and development (R&D) for technologies that can expand the grid with clean-energy sources.

Also part of this funding opportunity is a focus on delivering affordable electricity to disadvantaged communities.
