The White House Council on Environmental Quality (CEQ) on Friday (July 28) proposed a second set of rules to fully implement revamped permitting regulations under the Fiscal Responsibility Act of 2023. The first rule changes were issued in 2022. The latest proposed rules would, in part, roll back changes made during the Trump administration

“These reforms to federal environmental reviews will deliver better decisions, faster permitting and more community input and local buy-in,” said CEQ Chair Brenda Mallory.
