April Nymex natural gas futures finished their penultimate session in the lead position in the red, with the weather expected to provide a modest bump in demand too late to substantially impact the robust supply.

The prompt-month contract settled the Good Friday holiday-shortened workweek’s opening session at $1.615/MMBtu. Losses to an intraday low at $1.589 were reversed, with the contract closing down a less substantial 4.4 cents from Friday. May futures, ahead of rolling into the front position at Tuesday’s close, settled 2.3 cents lower at $1.789.
