An estimated 150,000 boe/d of natural gas and oil production was offline and thousands of residents had been evacuated early Monday as Western and Central Alberta dealt with more than 100 wildfires, with as many as 30 considered out of control.

“We note that there has yet to be reports of significant damage to infrastructure, so production is expected to be restored when the wildfires are brought under control, and it is safe for operations to resume,” BMO Capital Markets analysts said in a note to clients Monday.

As of Sunday night, 109 active wildfires were burning in Alberta’s Forest Protection Area, 28 of which were then classified as out of control, according to Alberta Wildfire.
