Air Products and Chemicals Inc. on Thursday earmarked $4.5 billion to build and operate a mega complex in Ascension, Parish, LA, capable of producing 750 million cubic feet/day of blue hydrogen and potentially the world’s largest carbon capture sequestration endeavor to date.

The project, expected to be operational in 2026, was announced Thursday by Gov. John Bel Edwards and Air Products CEO Seifi Ghasemi, who said the complex would be the company’s largest ever investment in the United States.
