Spot gas prices were range bound across most of the country during the Feb. 13-17 trading week, but there were some big movers as temperatures plunged into the country’s midsection and headed east. NGI’s Weekly Spot Gas National Avg. climbed 14.0 cents to $2.825.

Futures action failed to inspire similar strength. By Friday, prices had fallen to the lowest levels in two years.

West Coast markets got a jolt this week from more winter storms that pounded the region, ushering in heavy snow in parts of the Pacific Northwest and Rockies late in the period.
