TC Energy Corp. is expanding the ANR Pipeline Co. natural gas system with a set of upgrades targeting the Midwest markets in the United States which have announced significant coal-fired and vintage natural gas generation retirements.

The US$800,000 WR Project would add an incremental 157,000 Dth/d to the system while lowering emissions by around 30,000 metric tons/year of carbon dioxide equivalent, according to TC. The project would add electric motor compressors with fuel-switching capabilities. The new equipment would provide additional reliability and replace existing natural gas-powered compressor units along ANR’s system.
