Weekly natural gas cash prices lost ground for a third week as mild weather limited demand for heating across much of the Lower 48.      

NGI’s Weekly Spot National Avg. for the Jan. 31-Feb. 2 period fell 26.5 cents to $2.115, with declines in all but the Northeast region.

Cold weather supported an uptick at a number of locations in the Northeast against the wider retreat. Deals spanned $1.700 to $7.500 with the Northeast Regional Avg. up 60.0 cents to $3.660. Among the region’s largest gainers, Algonquin Citygate added $1.600 to $4.970.

Elsewhere, the largest regional losses were in West Texas and the Rocky Mountains amid mostly mild weather.
