February Natural Gas Retreats Off Last Week’s Surge, Called 14 Cents Lower

February natural gas was set to open Tuesday about 14 cents lower at around $3.055, retreating off a surge late last week following a record storage withdrawal.

Another Round of Arctic Cold Lifts Natural Gas Spot Prices; Futures Surge to $3.20

Coming off a record storage pull, and with the latest weather data trending colder, prompt-month natural gas futures rallied Friday to their highest levels since November. Meanwhile, the arrival of more cold weather saw elevated winter pricing return to the cash market, especially along the East Coast; the NGI National Spot Gas Average jumped $1.97 to $5.15/MMBtu.
