Williams’ Northwest Pipeline system is conducting an open season for its Colorado Hub Connection project through May 31. Shippers can contract for long-term firm transportation service from the Greasewood and Meeker Hubs located in Rio Blanco County, CO, to various pipeline interconnects and Northwest’s existing system to access western markets.

Northwest proposes to construct a new 33-mile lateral that would tie the Greasewood and Meeker Hubs to its mainline near Sand Springs. Additionally, shippers will be able to utilize mainline capacity anticipated to be available on Northwest’s existing system.

Northwest is offering several firm service options to shippers: 1) a lateral-only service up to approximately 250,000 Dth/day on the proposed lateral from the Greasewood Hub or the Meeker Hub to Northwest’s mainline near Sand Springs; 2) a hub service, which includes up to approximately 250,000 Dth/day of bi-directional service between the Greasewood and Meeker Hubs; and 3) a combined lateral and mainline firm service up to approximately 250,000 Dth/day from either the Greasewood or Meeker Hubs to Northwest’s mainline delivery point near Ignacio, CO, where Northwest interconnects with El Paso Natural Gas and Transwestern Natural Gas. The mainline portion of this service may originate at receipt points as far north as Stanfield, OR, and offers numerous segmentation opportunities.

“Exceptional growth in the Rockies producing basins has led to the need for increased access to all markets across the country,” said Williams Gas Pipeline President Phil Wright. “Northwest Pipeline is well positioned to economically provide the transportation capacity needed to move Rockies gas to growing market centers throughout the western United States.”

Based on the level of commitments, Northwest will determine the final design, costs and rates for the project. Subject to the necessary approvals, it is anticipated service will be available in November 2010.
