Williams Partners LP said Monday that it’s placed the second phase of its Garden State Expansion Project into service.

The project expands the Transcontinental Gas Pipe Line (Transco) system to deliver another 180,000 Dth/d to New Jersey Natural Gas. Phase 1 of the project was placed into service last September.

Garden State provides firm transportation from Transco’s Zone 6 Station 210 pooling point in Mercer County, NJ, to a new interconnection on its Trenton Woodbury lateral in Burlington County, NJ. The project consisted of the installation of a new compressor station and new meter and regulating station in Burlington County, in addition to modifications and more compression at an existing Transco station in the state.

New Jersey Natural Gas provides service to more than a half million customers in the state’s Monmouth, Ocean, Morris, Middlesex, Sussex and Burlington counties.

Williams announced the project in July 2014 and FERC issued a certificate in April 2016. Phase 2 was cleared for service earlier this month.
