In an abbreviated four-day trading week following the Fourth of July holiday, weekly cash prices climbed higher amid lofty temperatures across California and the West.

NGI’s Weekly Spot Gas National Avg. for the July 6-9 period advanced 4.5 cents to $3.510.

Sweltering conditions penetrated much of the western half of the United States throughout the week, with highs in the upper 90s in parts of the Rocky Mountains and well above 100 in the deserts of California and across the Southwest.

As the trading week closed, KRGT Del Pool in the Southwest was up a whopping $1.195 to $5.245, while several hubs in California were deep in the green as well. SoCal Border – Kramer jumped $1.120 to $5.210 and SoCal Border – Wheeler Ridge soared $1.605 to $5.285.
