Due to high acid gas volumes at the inlet of Pine River Gas Plant impacting some shippers’ firm entitlement/production, Westcoast reduced the plant’s acid gas capacity volume Thursday morning to about 91.4 MMcf/d until further notice.

Reflecting increasing linepack, NOVA changed its imbalance tolerance Thursday to 0/-20%.

Union Gas is holding an open season through Jan. 23 for FT between the Dawn Market Hub and Union’s Kirkwall and Parkway interconnects. Union said its offering can help TransCanada shippers needing extra capacity at the Waddington (Iroquois), Chippawa (Empire) and Niagara (Tennessee/National Fuel) export points “by letting them source gas from the closest, most liquid supply point.” The LDC also said its open season coincides with and complements one launched this week by TransCanada (see Daily GPI, Jan. 9) that features firm capacity from Empress to Waddington (50,000 GJ/d), Chippawa (30,000 GJ/d) and Niagara (30,000 GJ/d). The Union capacity will commence on Nov. 1, 2002 and Nov. 1, 2003. A premium will be charged for any contract term less than 10 years. Union will accept requests that are conditional upon the bidder being awarded TransCanada capacity.
