Noting that at the end of August it had experienced significant long imbalances after posting the final cash-out index, Sonat said Wednesday that “similar economic conditions exist this month.” Shipper were advised to monitor the bulletin board for possible issuance of a Type 6 OFO for the weekend if flowing supply levels and demand cause Sonat to exceed its maximum storage injection capability.

Citing operational constraints in its production area, Transco said that effective today until further notice, capacity through Station 40 in East Texas is limited to primary firm transportation only.

CIG said a reduction of its Maximum Daily Injection Quantity to 1/200th of Maximum Available Capacity will begin Oct. 1 and remain in effect for the entire month. “Gas supplies above this level will not be injected and may result in transportation imbalances,” CIG said. The limitations are directed only at CIG’s storage fields and do not affect operations of the Young Storage Company, which is also operated by CIG.

Westcoast announced Wednesday an open season that ends this afternoon for about 120 MMcf/d of expanded firm service on its Fort Nelson mainline facilities (see Daily GPI, Sept. 25). Sonat will conduct a shut-in test of its Bear Creek Storage Facility in LouisianaOct. 1-7. A force majeure will be declared, and each CSS customer will be allocated 64% of its currently effective daily injection/withdrawal quantieis as posted on SoNet Premier. A similar shut-in test of the Muldon Storage Facility in Mississippiis scheduled for Oct. 8-14. Injection/withdrawal service to CSS customers will be reduced to 36% of currently scheduled levels during the Muldon work.
