Transportation Notes
In a 9 p.m. PST update Wednesday, affiliates Southern California Gas and San Diego Gas & Electric said projected receipts into their Southern System for Thursday’s gas day were expected to be sufficient to meet minimum requirements and therefore a Curtailment Watch was canceled.
Following Transwestern‘s cessation of a low-linepack Alert Day Wednesday (see Daily GPI, Dec. 8), downstream LDC Southwest Gas said it was lifting the associated Hold Burn to Scheduled Quantities notice.
Effective Saturday until further notice, Northwest is declaring a Stage III (13% imbalance tolerance) Overrun Entitlement for all receiving parties north of Plymouth Compressor Station. The entitlement will apply to the mainline north of Plymouth along with the Spokane, Wenatchee and Grants Pass laterals, Northwest said, and is an effort “to preserve storage balances and maintain operational flexibility, which has been diminished due to recent drafting.”
Bison Pipeline will claim a force majeure event when it begins repairs Saturday on pipe near milepost 178 in Bowman County, ND, which will require a complete shut-in to relocate the line in the affected area, it said. The repairs are required due to washout and erosion features at the location that are a potential pipe integrity and safety risk, Bison said. All scheduled volumes from the Buffalo receipt point will be reduced to zero from Saturday through Tuesday.
Tennessee reported continuing an inspection of Unit 1A at Station 323 but said at this time it does not have complete information for a definitive schedule for returning the unit to service. Based on current information the earliest availability of Unit 1A will be Dec. 17, the pipeline said. The estimated impact from the station being unavailable is 155,000 Dth/d, and based on current nominations, pro rata restrictions through Secondary Out of Path service at Station 321 are required.
