Northern Natural Gas said Friday an outage of the Mustang Island757/762 platform offshore Texas, which it operates, was now expectedto extend through the middle of this week; previously it hadanticipated the outage would end Friday night (see Daily GPI, Jan. 5). The associated force majeure isaffecting deliveries into Florida Gas Transmission and Transco.

Another Enron pipe was having better luck. Transwestern liftedFriday a force majeure it had imposed Jan. 1 at Station 4 following aNew Year’s Eve outage of compressor Unit #3. It had originallyprojected that the force majeure would last through Jan. 16, limitingcapacity in the West of Thoreau segment to about 925,000 MMbtu/d (seeDaily GPI, Jan. 5). West of Thoreaucapacity returned to 1.02 Bcf/d Friday.

Due to the addition of new facilities and colder temperaturesassociated with the winter season, NOVA plans to increase targetlinepack. It is seeking unconditional tenders for the firm supplyof about 415,000 gigajoules. The gas, which will be suppliedthrough on-system inventory transfers, must be provided in more orless even increments over a period of up to 14 days starting on orabout Jan. 17.
