MRT is issuing a cold weather-related System Protection Warning effective Tuesday, under which it will not schedule volumes that result in a daily short imbalance position by zone (Market Zone or Field Zone) anywhere on its system.

Citing forecasts of temperatures in the mid 30s in Florida that night, Florida Gas Transmission issued an Overage Alert Day for market-area customers Monday. The tolerance for negative daily imbalances was set at 25%.

Columbia Gas said Tuesday will be deemed a Critical Day for storage. “Based on storage withdrawal capacity and on forecasted firm storage withdrawal requirements, transporter [Columbia] projects that all available storage withdrawal capacity will be required to meet firm service obligations,” the pipeline said, adding that it projects no availability of interruptible storage services. See the bulletin board for applicable daily and monthly penalties.

Northwest reported that its Woodland Meter Station in Cowlitz County, WA, was damaged early Saturday morning when a vehicle ran into it, interrupting service and making the station inoperable. Working with the local distribution company, Northwest was able to put a temporary solution in place last Saturday to restore natural gas service in the Woodland area, with a permanent fix to be completed in the coming week.

Questar Pipeline said subsidiary Questar Transportation Services (QTS) recently sold the Castle Valley CO2 [carbon dioxide] Plant and the XTO Huntington Lateral that served QTS receipt points Huntington and Orangeville. As a result, effective March 1 there are now two separate receipt points into the pipeline at the plant outlet, Questar said. Gas delivered from QTS will continue to be received at MAP 302 CO2 Plant Outlet, it added, while gas delivered from the XTO Huntington Lateral system will be received at a new point, MAP 411 Huntington Plant. Questar urged shippers to evaluate their primary receipt capacity from the Castle Valley CO2 Plant area and align that capacity to match business requirements.
