Northern Natural Gas is allowing a System Overrun Limitation (SOL) for all market-area zones to lapse Thursday; the SOL had been in effect since Monday.

Noting that it had already reported experiencing large due-shipper imbalances on its system, Algonquin encouraged customers to resolve their cumulative due-shipper imbalances by Thursday. Effective Friday until further notice, Algonquin will not allow makeup of due-shipper imbalances or creation of due-pipeline imbalances due to forecasted high demand conditions. It also issued a critical notice warning with 2% imbalance tolerance effective Friday until further notice.

Algonquin affiliate Maritimes & Northeast also said it was not allowing makeup of due-shipper imbalances or creation of due-pipeline imbalances.

TransCanada said that from Tuesday (Dec. 16) going forward, it expects that discretionary services delivering to the GMi EDA and East Hereford locations will not be authorized, and it anticipated that “some level” of firm transportation will be curtailed in the area. It noted that it had been issued a force majeure declaration last Saturday by TransQuebec & Maritimes (TQM) due to a multiple compressor failure at TQM’s Station #650 (Lachenaie). As a result, TransCanada issued its own force majeure declaration for Station #654 (East Hereford) to firm shippers delivering to GMi EDA and East Hereford. One of the units at Station #650 is expected to be back in service later this week, TransCanada, while the status of the others is unknown. “With the return of the Lachenaie compressor, we anticipate an increased level of firm [transportation] will be allowed to flow in the area.”

Tennessee declared force majeure Wednesday at Station 317 near Troy, PA, and at Station 319 near Wyalusing, PA, saying immediate repairs had become necessary on a unit at each station due to unexpected electrical failures. Tennessee said it anticipated resolution of both issues within 24 hours.

El Paso canceled Wednesday the warning it had issued Monday of a potential Strained Operating Condition due to system drafting that resulted from takes in excess of scheduled deliveries, in combination with underperformance in the supply basins due to weather-related issues. “Customer response has been sufficient to increase [El Paso’s] linepack to acceptable levels,” the pipeline said.

Southern California Gas reported regaining 250 MMcf/d of storage injection capacity Wednesday that had been lost Sept. 22 because of high pressures caused by excess field inventories.
