In an update on the impact from a recent brush fire that burned through its Aliso Canyon storage field (see Daily GPI, Oct. 16), Southern California Gas (SoCalGas) said that although the fire did not cause damage to Aliso Canyon’s major facilities, it did damage power and communication infrastructure. SoCalGas said it was working to complete the necessary repairs but did not know when the field would be back in service.

Questar said it completed the rerouting of its ML 80 segment ahead of schedule and restored ML 80 capacity to the normal 290,000 Dth/d Thursday. Due to side valves being installed on the 26-inch and 30-inch diameter lines near its Eunice (LA) Compressor Station, on Monday TGT will begin bypassing volumes subject to processing at the Eunice Crosstex processing plant. Oct. 29 is the tentative date for the construction work to be completed, TGT said. Plant Thermal Reduction percentages will be zero until then, it added. TGT said it will waive the hydrocarbon dew point quality specifications in its tariff for 20 meters during this work, but reserves the right to revoke the waiver at any time for any reason. In addition, until the valve installations are finished, TGT will be unable to schedule either receipts or deliveries at the ANR-Eunice interconnect.

El Paso‘s Keystone Station in Winkler County, TX, will be down for Department of Transportation inspections and other annual maintenance Monday through Saturday next week. No gas will flow through Keystone Monday through Thursday due to pipe replacement on Line 3026 Monday and Tuesday and on Line 1103 Wednesday and Thursday. On Friday and Saturday Keystone will be able to flow about 150 MMcf/d. The Unocal Storage Facility and Ector Power Plant upstream of Keystone will both remain on-line, providing a possible destination for Keystone Pool gas, El Paso said. See the bulletin board for other details and a list of points where receipts could be reduced by the Keystone work.
