Tennessee declared a force majeure event Friday for Compressor Station 249 in Carlisle, NY, due to the necessity of performing emergency repairs to the foundation supporting the frame of Unit 1A. If left unrepaired, this issue could result in a loss of mechanical integrity of the unit and/or a major failure resulting in an extended outage, Tennessee said. It expected to complete the repairs in seven days. Tennessee anticipates potential restrictions through a pro rata portion of Secondary in the Path nominations through Station 249 and said additional constraints may become necessary.

Gulf South has scheduled four days of pigging maintenance starting Tuesday on the Black Bayou Field lines in Nacogdoches County, TX. Two points will be shut in during this work.

Panhandle Eastern expects to complete repairs of a late-November rupture on the 400 Line (see Daily GPI, Nov. 27) in time to allow for a partial return to service for Tuesday’s gas day. The line’s capacity will be raised from the rupture-related limit of 1,150 MMcf/d to 1,250 MMcf/d, Panhandle Eastern said, but it must await permission from the Department of Transportation before returning to full Maximum Allowable Operating Pressure.
