Florida Gas Transmission extended an Overage Alert Day for market-area customers, which was implemented Tuesday, through at least Wednesday, and it tightened the initial 25% tolerance for negative daily imbalances to 15% Wednesday.

Columbia Gas issued an OFO, effective Tuesday, to shippers under all transportation rate schedules and to receipt meter operators in market areas 16, 17, 18 and 19, saying it was necessary to preserve system integrity and operating performance. See the bulletin board for OFO conditions. Columbia also said that effective Wednesday until further notice, there will be zero nonfirm receipt capacity for gas entering all lines upstream of Walgrove Compressor Station in Kanawha County, WV. All interruptible gas at a number of meters (see the bulletin board for list) was being shut in Wednesday.

CIG lifted Monday an OFO issued last month in connection with high storage levels (see Daily GPI, Sept. 12). “Shipper compliance with this OFO has been effective in improving the pipeline’s operational situation,” the pipeline said. It also removed a Strained Operating Condition notice issued prior to the OFO.

Noting that maintenance on its 20-inch diameter Main Pass Franklinton line offshore southeast Louisiana, which began Sept. 19, was scheduled to last about a month (see Daily GPI, Sept. 20), Southern Natural Gas said Wednesday that due to unexpected delays the line will not be available for service until mid-November.

Calling it a force majeure event, NGPL reported a rupture that occurred early Monday on its Illinois Lateral #2 line in Whiteside County, IL, just north of Compressor Station 110. The affected section was isolated and stabilized for investigation, NGPL said. It has determined that it will be necessary to operate the Illinois Lateral at a reduced operating pressure until a full investigation and remediation are complete. The pressure reduction impacts capacity for gas flowing through Station 110 to both the Illinois Lateral and eastbound through Segment 14. Effective with Wednesday’s gas day until further notice, NGPL is scheduling primary firm and secondary in-path firm transports to a minimum of 84% of Maximum Daily Quantity for specifically pathed gas. See the bulletin board for details.

Kern River said Wednesday it has determined that mechanical issues at the Elberta Compressor Station are beyond field repair and the gas turbine must be exchanged. A replacement turbine was expected to arrive at the station Wednesday morning, but it was not known when the unit will be available for service, the pipeline said. Therefore, operational capacity at Veyo Compressor Station will continue to be 1,927,000 Dth/d until further notice.
