Florida Gas Transmission kept an Overage Alert Day that was issued for market-area customers Tuesday in place through at least Wednesday, and tightened the tolerance for negative daily imbalances from 35% to 25%.

After completing an investigation, Northern Natural Gas reported late Tuesday night that it had located a leak on the 26-inch diameter “C” main line east of the Earlville (IA) Compressor Station (see Daily GPI, July 31). Repairs are under way and expected to be completed by Saturday, the pipeline said. In the meantime curtailment of firm capacity will continue, it added.

Citing seasonal operating conditions, Questar said it will reduce injection capacity at the Clay Basin storage facility to 325,000 Dth/d current daily injection plus 25,000 Dth/d Park and Loan daily injection for a total injection capability of 350,000 Dth/d. The new capacity will be effective with Cycle 1 nominations for Thursday’s gas day.

Northwest increased available capacity through the Pleasant View Compressor Station from 318,000 Dth/d to 324,000 Dth/d Wednesday. “This increase is due to current favorable operating conditions, which are expected to continue but not guaranteed,” Northwest said. Based on Pleasant View’s design capacity of 352,446 Dth/d, the new Daily Deficiency Volume will be 28,446 Dth, it added. The Declared Deficiency Period associated with the station is still expected to last through Sept. 7 for all days except Sunday, Northwest said. The full design capacity will be available on all Sundays. Northwest also noted that a prior posting had indicated that voluntary reductions through Meacham Compressor Station would not be necessary as long as scheduled quantities did not exceed the design capacity of 439,000 Dth/d. However, confirmed primary nominations at Meacham for Wednesday’s gas day exceed 454,000 Dth/d, it said. “Therefore, in order to preserve Northwest’s Jackson Prairie storage account balance, and to avoid the issuance of an Operational Flow Order (OFO) and notice of recall, Northwest is again asking its customers for immediate voluntary assistance in reducing the Meacham throughput number to a quantity equal to or less than the design capacity,” the pipeline said.
