With freezing temperatures forecasted in northern Florida that night, Florida Gas Transmission issued an Overage Alert Day for market-area customers Monday. The tolerance for negative daily imbalances was set at 25%.

System conditions had improved sufficiently to allow El Paso to cancel Monday a Strained Operating Condition. “Linepack has stabilized and maximal withdrawals from [the] Washington Ranch storage facility are no longer required to support system operations. Interruptible hourly swing service (IHSW) is now available,” El Paso said.

Southwest Gas lifted Sunday the Stage 3 OFO that it declared last Thursday.

Effective with the start of Tuesday’s gas day, MRT is lifting the System Protection Warning that was put into effect last Thursday.

East Tennessee Natural Gas will lift at the start of Tuesday’s gas day all secondary restrictions and the Maximum Allowable Delivery service that it implemented Sunday (see Daily GPI, Dec. 1).

CIG reported experiencing “a major mechanical failure” over the weekend in one of four Cheyenne Station compressor units. Station capacity was reduced by about 80 MMcf/d there were no service impacts, a spokesman said. Repairs were under way but as of Monday afternoon there was no estimate of when they might be completed, he said.

Northwest said Monday it is again accepting requests for interruptible storage at its Jackson Prairie facility by those with the proper contracts. The pipeline added that if it becomes necessary for Northwest to use this capacity for firm obligations, it will notify affected shippers that within seven days of such notice they must reduce their working gas inventory to a level specified by Northwest.
