Columbia Gulf reported Monday that it had discovered a leak on the Bluewater West Leg system offshore Louisiana between Vermilion 245 and Pecan Island. Columbia Gulf said 22 platforms were shut in as a result until further notice. Nine of the platforms had Columbia Gulf meters that were paired with those of Tennessee, co-owner of the Bluewater System; the others had Tennessee-only meters. A Tennessee bulletin board posting listed 24 platform meters where it said physical flows had been suspended due to the Bluewater West Leg leak. The companies declined to provide information about the production volumes involved.

Pacific Gas & Electric lifted Sunday a systemwide high-inventory OFO that had been in effect since the previous Thursday.

Columbia Gulf also said it is making repairs on the 26-inch diameter Eugene Island System offshore Louisiana and that three platforms at the Block 273D, 292B and 309B should be shut in until further notice.

CIG lifted Saturday a 49% withdrawal limit on storage customers’ Average Daily Withdrawal Quantity (see Daily GPI, Oct. 27). A Strained Operating Condition issued in mid-October (see Daily GPI, Oct. 23) remains in effect, CIG said, and the Fort Morgan storage field in Colorado is still shut in due a leaking well (see Daily GPI, Oct. 25). CIG also said that because of scheduled maintenance on the Young Gas Storage system, Young has informed the pipeline that it will be unable to accept injection or withdrawal nominations from Oct. 31 through Nov. 6.

Southern Natural Gas said Monday it had identified a need for repairs to the 22-inch diameter Lake Washington Line later this week; no date was set. The pipeline said it expected to be able to reroute gas during the repairs and avoid significant impacts to the Mississippi Canyon 397 and Venice-Mississippi Canyon Pipeline receipt points.
