Almost certainly in response to the imminence of Tropical Storm (potentially Hurricane) Katrina bringing cooling rains to the southern half of its Florida market area, Florida Gas Transmission ended Thursday an Overage Alert Day notice that had been initiated Aug. 10 and had tolerances for negative daily imbalances varying between 5% and 25% during its two-week run.

With linepack levels projected to be rising through Sunday, Pacific Gas & Electric did not extend a customer-specific low-inventory OFO beyond Thursday.

Southern Natural Gas said Thursday it remains unsure when it will be able to return the Transco-Frost Meter Station in Livingston Parish, LA to service. It had already delayed the previously anticipated Aug. 25 in-service date (see Daily GPI, Aug. 25).

Northwest‘s nominations system has activated the Yellow Creek receipt meter on the Piceance Lateral in Rio Blanco County, CO. The point, operated by Dominion Rocky Mountain Pipeline, has a capacity of 13,344 Dth/d.

Cheyenne Plains Gas Pipeline is holding an open season through Sept. 16 on a supply lateral expansion project that will connect the Bitter Creek and Yuma gathering systems in Yuma County, CO into Cheyenne Plains in Washington County, CO. The project will result in as much as 50,000 Dth/d of additional capacity from the interconnection of the supply lateral to the southern terminus of Cheyenne Plains at pipeline interconnections at or near Greensburg, KS.
