Due to colder than normal temperatures in market-area Zone E/F, Northern Natural Gas called a System Overrun Limitation day for the zone Tuesday.

Pacific Gas & Electric had systemwide Stage 3 high-inventory OFOs in place Saturday and again Monday, but did not extend the second order into Tuesday. Both OFOs had 5% tolerance for positive daily imbalances and carried $5/Dth penalties.

Sonat implemented an OFO Type 6 for long imbalances at the start of Saturday’s gas day, but based on scheduled supply, projected demand and current system conditions, it canceled the OFO later that same day.

Transwestern reported experiencing a mechanical failure Friday in Unit # 1 at the Crawford Compressor Station on its West Texas Lateral. A replacement unit is expected to become available for service Wednesday; until then station capacity is reduced to about 36,000 MMBtu/d from 60,000 MMBtu/d. Transwestern said it is working with customers to reroute gas around Crawford to other receipt points. The pipeline had just lifted a similar maintenance constraint two days before the new problem arose (see Daily GPI, Dec. 29, 2004).
