Due to unexpected operational difficulties, Dominion said early Friday it was unable to move shut-in gas onto the Equitrans system at the Copley and West Union meters that day as previously planned (see Daily GPI, Nov. 7). It is imperative that producers on the “wet” gathering system behind Dominion’s Hastings Extraction Plant in West Virginia, where an explosion and fire occurred Oct. 31, remain shut in until the gas is able to be transferred to Equitrans, Dominion said. Affected customers were urged to check the bulletin board regularly for further updates.

Transco said it was able to end Friday an “Imbalance Makeup Notice Due to Buyer or OBA [Operational Balancing Agreement] Party” that took effect Tuesday (see Daily GPI, Nov. 4) due to the notice’s effectiveness “and a forecast of normal to colder-than-normal weather for the upcoming weeks.” Transco will continue to limit the scheduling tolerance at pooling points to 1%.

Citing a change in supply alignment, Northern Natural Gas lifted demarcation point allocations starting with the non-grid, 7 a.m. cycle for Friday’s gas day. NNG said it would continue to evaluate nominations to determine whether any demarc allocations might be necessary for future business.

It was a new notice dated Nov. 7, but the message was the same as the day before (see Daily GPI, Nov. 7): Kern River said Friday it was again being told by Williams Field Services that Intra-Day 1 nominations cuts would be made at Opal Plant due to high water content in gas from the upstream Jonah Field, and further cuts might be made in the Intra-Day 2 cycle. Shippers were advised again to “call your suppliers to see if a supply realignment is necessary.”

Recalling a previous notice about certain production locations becoming temporarily unavailable for delivery to Transco due to third-party abandonment and removal of the Brazos Block A-20 platform, the pipeline said the work has been postponed until further notice. It was previously set to begin around Nov. 14 and last 30 days (see Daily GPI, Oct. 30).
