Tennessee lifted Thursday a Critical Day 1 OFO Alert (see Daily GPI, Nov. 4) for customers under Rate Schedules LMS-MA and LMS-PA. However, customers under Rate Schedule FS, including customers utilizing the Storage Swing Option (SSO) service, will remain subject to the alert until further notice.

Kern River reported being informed by Williams Field Services that cuts would be made in Thursday’s Intra-Day 1 nominations cycle at Opal Plant due to continuing high water content from Jonah Field upstream of the plant. If conditions worsened, there was a possibility of further cuts in the Intra-Day 2 cycle, Kern River said, advising shippers to “call your suppliers to see if a supply realignment is necessary.”

Dominion said it has worked with Equitrans to provide an alternative to move a portion of the gas that was shut in on the “wet” gathering system following an Oct. 31 explosion and fire at Dominion’s Hastings Extraction Plant in West Virginia (see Daily GPI, Nov. 4). Beginning Friday, Equitrans has agreed to accept about 26,000 Dth/d on its system (18,000 Dth/d at the Copley meter and 8,000 Dth/d at the West Union meter). Pool operators interested in moving gas off to Equitrans need to make marketing arrangements with that pipe, Dominion said. See the bulletin board for details.

Northwest said a relief valve on a heater fuel line at a metering station near Granite Falls, WA opened Wednesday evening, producing a hissing sound and a small release of natural gas that did not pose any danger. Initial media reports identifying the noise as a rupture and leak were incorrect, the pipeline said. District Manager Bill Brausieck said Northwest could understand local residents’ concerns, so it was contacting them Thursday to explain what created the noise and to answer any questions about pipeline operations.
