Brief — Puente Power Project

As requested, California Energy Commission (CEC) siting committee has granted NRG Energy Inc.’s request to suspend until May 1 a proceeding on the proposed 262 MW Puente Power Project, a natural gas-fired plant for Ventura County. NRG has proposed Puente Power to replace the Ormand Beach (1,516 MW) and Mandalay Bay (560 MW) gas-fired, seawater-cooled baseload generation plants set to close by the end of 2020.
