Texas oil and gas well records, production reports, geologicaldata and research information is now available online at the TexasRailroad Commission’s web site (www.rrc.state.tx.us). The serviceswill allow users to browse the history of an estimated 132 millionpages of documents collected for more than one million wells in68,000 oil and gas fields in the state.

“Whether in the oil patch or in state government, efficiency isjust smart business,” said TRC Chairman Michael L. Williams. “Byoffering an online avenue to essential records and information, theTRC is providing a vital business resource.”

Along with well records and data, hearing files are availablefrom 1920 to today, including new field designation, statewiderules, docketed hearings, field rules and fluid injection hearings.Online users also may request proceedings and filings of the TRChearings, along with engineering data, well logs, cross sections,maps, plats and other support data. However, TRC will not provideinformation on leases and royalties, unclaimed property, investmentoffers, bankruptcy cases or municipalities.

All requests will be processed in the order required, and whenthe request is completed, the TRC will notify the user if there areany charges involved.
