Texas Gas Transmission is planning to expand two Kentucky gas storage fields to provide more seasonal and daily capacity and storage services for customers. The Loews Corp. pipeline subsidiary announced a binding open season last Monday for firm storage service and no-notice service.

The proposed expansion would take place at its Midland and Hanson, KY, storage fields in the Appalachian Basin. Based on the response to the open season, Texas Gas proposes to install the facilities needed to provide additional daily and seasonal storage services. The projected in-service date for the expanded storage capacity would be Nov. 1, 2006 pending regulatory approval.

The binding open season started last Monday and will close Dec. 17.
