Texas Eastern Transmission (Tetco) announced plans to expand itsMain Pass system in the Gulf of Mexico and lease the new expansioncapacity to Dauphin Island Gathering Partners (DIGP). The projectwill provide Tetco customers with access new supply sources andwould give DIGP additional capacity it needs to serve itscustomers, said Tetco President Bobby Evans.

“This unique arrangement resulted from an open season TexasEastern held in February for an expansion of its system in thisarea,” he added. Tetco has filed with FERC to build 9.65 miles of24-inch diameter pipeline loop on its Main Pass system. The projectwill add 100,000 Dth/d of firm capacity from the existing DIGPconnection to the Venice Processing Plant onshore Louisiana. DIGPwill lease the capacity for 15 years beginning Jan. 1, 2000.Construction costs are estimated to total $15 million, and construction is scheduled for summer 1999.
