Citing forecasts of single-digit system weighted temperatures and below-zero lows at most reporting stations in its market area, Northern Natural Gas issued a System Overrun Limitation that will take effect Thursday for all market-area zones (ABC, D and E/F). It set System Management Services percentages (imbalance tolerances) of 25% for all zones.

Columbia Gulf has scheduled maintenance at Egan Hub Storage in South Louisiana for Tuesday, during which capacity will be zero. The pipeline said it would resume accepting up to 150,000 Dth/d in injection/withdrawal nominations Wednesday.

Maritimes & Northeast (M&N) deliveries into Tennessee at Dracut, MA were cut to zero for the gas days of Thursday and Friday and presumably will remain that way into the weekend due to processing problems at the Goldboro Gas Plant in Halifax, NS. Alan Jeffers of ExxonMobil Canada, the operator of Sable Offshore Energy Project (SOEP), said SOEP supplies into M&N had been reduced about 40% to 245 MMcf/d (from 400 MMcf/d normally). “Goldboro hopes to have the problem resolved in the next several days,” Jeffers said. A Northeast marketer said he understood Goldboro was having problems with its glycol processes, but Jeffers was unable to confirm that.

MN Gas Utility, State Officials Clash Over Disconnected Customers

In the aftermath of sub-zero holiday temperatures and state officials reaching a slow boiling point, Houston-based CenterPoint Energy’s Minnesota utility operations were struggling to restore natural gas service to more than 1,000 residents who entered last weekend’s Christmas holiday without any heat. As of Tuesday, a net total of 605 “premises” were still shut off, a Minneapolis-based CenterPoint spokesperson said.
