Transwestern has scheduled March 26-27 maintenance at the P-3 Compressor Station on its Panhandle Lateral. There will be zero flow at the Williams Canadian River and ANR-Red Deer points during the work.

EPA Settles Environmental Case Against Transco

The Justice Department and the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) announced Friday Williams’ Transcontinental Gas Pipe Line has agreed to extensive testing and clean-up for soil and groundwater contamination related to waste disposal at numerous compressor stations along its pipeline. In addition, the settlement with the company calls for Transco to clean up polychlorinated biphenyl (PCB) contamination, complete a storm water monitoring program, conduct storm water sampling at several compressor stations and pay a $1.4 million civil penalty. The settlement is the latest in a number of similar actions brought against interstate pipeline companies over the last 15 years.

Kern River reported being informed by affiliate Williams Field Services that Jonah Field operators will perform maintenance at Byrd Canyon #2 today. Nominations at the WFS-operated Opal Plant will be reduced in the timely cycle. The total tailgate impact is estimated at 103,000 dekatherms.

Transportation Notes

Kern River reported being informed by affiliate Williams Field Services that Opal Plant was experiencing gas quality issues involving high water content at the tailgate. WFS was cutting Opal nominations in the Intraday 2 process Monday. The plant dropped 85 MMcf Monday from its normal throughput of about 740 MMcf/d, a WFS spokesman said, but the situation was improving Tuesday and any further loss was expected to be minimal.

Enbridge Acquires TX Gathering Assets for $50M

Alberta-based Enbridge Inc. reported on Thursday that it plans to buy the South Texas gas gathering, treating and transmission assets of the Williams Companies for $50 million. The deal includes 492 miles of Ferc-regulated gas transmission and 298 miles of non-FERC regulated gathering systems and pipeline laterals.

Williams’ Northwest Pipeline has filed with FERC to expand delivery capacity from Sumas at the Canadian border to Chehalis, WA, and in the Plymouth-to-Washougal, WA corridor (Columbia River Gorge corridor). The $240 million Evergreen Expansion Project is aimed at meeting demands of existing customers, as well as new generation load.

Williams Files Rockies Expansion with FERC

Northwest Pipeline has filed an application with FERC for its Rockies Expansion Project in Wyoming and southeastern Idaho. The project would increase its capacity by 175,000 Dth/d for transportation of existing customers’ domestic supplies to markets in Idaho, Oregon and Washington.
