The U.S. Senate voted 52-47 Thursday along mostly party lines to confirm Andrew Wheeler as administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). Sen. Susan Collins of Maine was the only Republican to oppose the nomination. Wheeler, a former lobbyist for the coal industry, previously served as EPA’s deputy, then interim, administrator.
