The Cayenne Pipeline, a joint venture between American Midstream Partners LP (AMID) and Targa Resources Corp., has been completed and natural gas liquids (NGL) deliveries have begun, AMID said Wednesday.

High Point Gas Transmission LLC (HPGT) recently filed at FERC to abandon its Venice to Toca natural gas pipeline for sale to Cayenne Pipeline LLC and conversion to natural gas liquids (NGL) service.

The U.S. Coast Guard (USCG) Wednesday afternoon was responding to an explosion and fire aboard a mobile offshore drilling unit 42 miles southeast of Venice, LA, in the Gulf of Mexico (GOM). The explosion occurred about 10 p.m. Tuesday aboard Transocean Ltd.’s semisubmersible Deepwater Horizon.

Houston-based Spinnaker Exploration Co. said Tuesday it has discovered natural gas in the Gulf of Mexico (GOM) about 100 miles southeast of Venice, LA. The field, in Mississippi Canyon Block 961, is situated 12 miles west-southwest of the future platform site of the Independence Hub project, and Spinnaker expects to ramp up production in 2007 when the hub is completed.

Texas Eastern said it had finished valve repairs on its Venice Lateral in the East Louisiana Zone (see Daily GPI, July 26) and brought the line back into service Thursday morning, allowing affected production to resume at scheduled volumes. Shipper imbalances incurred during the brief outage may be made up through the end of the month, Texas Eastern said.
