U.S. land rig margins increased on average by more than $800/day for Helmerich & Payne Inc. (H&P) during the fiscal third quarter on increased utilization and demand for super-specification rigs.

Basic Energy Services Inc. said its drilling rig days in November slumped to 59 from 298 in the year-ago period. The utilization rate was 16%, versus 83% a year ago and 13% in October.

Basic Energy Services Inc., which provides well site services across the U.S. onshore, said its rig count remained unchanged month/month in July, but well servicing rig hours declined both sequentially and from a year ago.
