Chesapeake Energy Corp., which has spent the last decade creating one of the largest natural gas drilling machines in the United States, quickly is becoming an onshore liquids dynamo, CEO Aubrey McClendon told financial analysts Tuesday.

Individual operators reported record-breaking production from the Marcellus Shale in 2011, producing more than 1 Tcf from the Pennsylvania portion of the play, according to new Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) data.

The Bureau of Land Management’s Carlsbad Field Office in New Mexico has begun a process to revise and update its Resource Management Plan (RMP) for public lands in Eddy, Lea and southwestern Chaves counties, the federal agency said Friday.
