Tiered imbalance penalties were set for positive imbalances exceeding 2%, or 200 Dth, whichever was greater.

In preparation for the upcoming winter season, NiSource Gas Transmission & Storage (NGT&S) unit Columbia Gulf Transmission is holding an open season for capacity to deliver gas to Texas Eastern Transmission LP in St. Landry Parish, LA, the pipeline said. NGT&S is considering modifying or constructing new assets to facilitate the delivery of up to 176,000 Dth/d to Texas Eastern, with an anticipated in-service date of Nov. 1. Columbia Gulf is soliciting binding offers for firm contracts sourced from receipt points on the Columbia Gulf mainline near Delhi, LA, and delivered to the Texas Eastern St. Landry interconnect. ICE Anticipating CFTC Hearings; Producers Dreading Them

IntercontinentalExchange (ICE), a major energy trading platform, Thursday said it welcomed the opportunity to participate in the Commodity Futures Trading Commission’s (CFTC) upcoming hearings on position limits in energy trading markets, noting it has been an area of concern for some time. Independent oil and natural gas producers, however, were less receptive, warning that dramatic changes by the CFTC affecting their hedging activities could cripple development.

Atlantic basin tropical storm activity and U.S. landfall of tropical storms during the upcoming hurricane season are forecast to be about 35% above the 1950-2008 norm, according to London-based forecaster Tropical Storm Risk (TSR). TSR called for 4.8 named storms making U.S. landfall, including 2.1 hurricanes.
