Enbridge Completes Bakken Pipe Project

Enbridge Bakken Pipeline Co. Inc. has completed and placed in service its 77-mile Bakken Pipeline Project Canada, which connects to the Enbridge Pipelines Inc. (EPI) Mainline and carries crude oil from the Bakken Shale to North American refinery markets, Enbridge Energy Partners LP (EEP) and Enbridge Income Fund said Monday.

Producer Expects Marcellus Pipe Constraints to Lessen, Eventually

For the time being at least, Marcellus Shale producers are paying the price for too much of a good thing. Concentrated development in the nation’s preeminent shale gas play has made for basis-inverting constraints on Tennessee Gas Pipeline. However, the industry has seen this sort of thing before (in the Rockies more than once, for instance), and the market will work it out, eventually, a Marcellus producer told NGI’s Shale Daily.

Sempra LNG Facility to Receive Russian Gas for California Markets

More gas could ultimately flow sooner through Sempra Energy’s underutilized West Coast liquefied natural gas (LNG) terminal following an announcement last Wednesday that Royal Dutch Shell and Russia’s Gazprom have signed a series of 20-year agreements in which both will be buying LNG supplies from the eastern Russia Sakhalin II production area. It gives the Russian behemoth its first major entry into the U.S. gas market.

With rising natural gas demand and underutilized production, Mexico’s state-owned oil and gas monopoly is considering several sources to boost the needed commodity. Along with plans to auction the remaining two Burgos Basin blocks this summer, Mexico also is considering not only siting more liquefied natural gas (LNG) terminals, but importing it as well, according to officials with Petroleos Mexicanos (Pemex).
