Columbia Gas is designating Wednesday as a Critical Day in Market Areas 20, 21, 22, 23, 24, 25, 28, 29, 30, 31, 33 and 34. “Based on forecasted markets, available facilities and capacity utilization, transporter [Columbia] projects that all available capacity to the aforementioned Market Areas will be required to meet firm service obligations, leaving…zero nonfirm capacity,” the pipeline said. Shippers with primary firm rights or secondary priority rights in the affected Market Areas will not be impacted.

WGL’s Request for More Time to Justify LNG-Related Claims Ruffles Dominion’s Feathers

Dominion Cove Point LNG LP, a transporter of liquefied natural gas (LNG) to Washington Gas Light (WGL), has asked FERC to deny the Washington, DC-based utility’s request for an extension of the deadline to provide documents backing up its claim that deliveries from the LNG import terminal were responsible for the costly gas leaks on WGL’s distribution system in 2003.

TransCanada Reaches Alberta System Settlement; Battle for Alaska Pipe Continues

TransCanada PipeLines Ltd., Canada’s top natural gas transporter, has put an end to prolonged conflicts with its customers by negotiating rate settlements on its principal delivery systems. The pipeline company announced a three-year agreement on Thursday on key items for establishing tolls on its Nova gas-gathering network in Alberta, source for about four-fifths of Canadian production.
