Tennessee reported completion of the Torrington Lateral project and is now accepting nominations at the Winsted and Torrington meters. The lateral originates in Massachusetts as a Zone 6 interconnect with Line 200 and go about 20 miles south to Torrington, CT.

Transportation Notes

Tennessee reported Wednesday it had discovered a pinhole leak in a valve on its East Cameron 49B compressor platform. While repairs are made Thursday through Sunday, physical receipts will be suspended at 13 upstream meters. Other meters will experience higher than normal pipeline pressure.

Piedmont Gas Customers to See Another Rate Cut

Piedmont Natural Gas, which distributes gas to about 710,000 customers in North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee, said Thursday that its residential customers will see reduced rates yet again beginning Feb.1 because of reductions in the company’s wholesale costs. The rate reductions will be the seventh since last winter for North Carolina and the fifth for South Carolina customers.

Due to a change in schedule, Tennessee was unable to deliver gas for processing to the Yscloskey Plant in southeast Louisiana beginning Wednesday. Customers were required to reduce PTR nominations for Yscloskey to zero until further notice.

Due to the uncertainty posed by Tropical Storm Barry, Tennessee has delayed the start of a 500 Line outage until Tuesday. The work previously was set to begin today (see Daily GPI, Aug. 3).

Transportation Notes

Due to Houston area flooding, the Greenway 9 Plaza building that houses Tennessee’s Transportation Services Department is closed until further notice, the pipeline said Tuesday. Volume analysts can be reached at alternative phone numbers listed on the bulletin board. Affiliate ANR is also being affected by the disruption of power and communications at Greenway 9. Customers may use cell phone numbers for ANR representatives (provided on the bulletin board) or call Joseph Pollard, director, transportation services, at (713) 724-3095.

Citing unanticipated delays, Tennessee said Tuesday thatrehabilitation work on its Donna Lateral in South Texas, scheduledfor Oct. 23-24, must be extended at least into today. Until furthernotice, nominations will continue to be refused at 18 meters.
