Northeast Plunges; Blizzard Potential Has Most Points Near Flat

Despite lows still due to be around freezing or a little lower on Christmas Eve, Northeast citygate numbers tanked — often by $2-plus — Wednesday. But most of the cash market was up or down less than a dime from flat as The Weather Channel (TWC) said a potential blizzard in much of the central U.S. will make holiday travel “very dangerous or impossible over portions of the region.”

Rockies Fall Under $1 Amid Overall Gains; CIG Dips as Low as 15 Cents

Rocky Mountains points tanked to averages of about a dollar or less Monday. ICE said a CIG deal was done on its electronic on-line system at 15 cents, which would tie NGI’s all-time record for lowest price; however, the lowest Rockies prices Monday that could be confirmed by the NGI price table were 30 cents at Cheyenne Hub and Questar.

Prices Emulate Previous Friday’s Plunges

Another Friday, another price rout. In a seeming rerun from a week earlier, weekend prices tanked hard Friday in response to lack of weather-related load and a bearish storage report in which the 81 Bcf injection exceeded most prior expectations.
