TheCL&F No. 58-2 well drilled to a total depth of 13,100 feet andcompleted in 63 net feet of Bourg Sand. “We knew when we started2000 our drilling program in the Gulf Coast had significantpotential as evidenced by this most recent discovery,” Seegmillersaid.

Berkshire Gas Turns to LNG
Needing to expand capacity and increase deliverability to itscustomers in Franklin County, MA, Berkshire Gas Co. hassuccessfully petitioned the state’s Energy Facilities Siting Boardfor the rights to build an LNG storage facility in Whatley, MA. Theboard ruled in favor of the $5 million facility last week.Berkshire will begin construction immediately and hopes to have thefacility running by late December.
FERC Approves Western-KCPL Merger
Kansas City Power & Light and Western Resources successfully reached an agreement with the FERC settling all merger-related issues, Western Resources said last week. The company also said the agreement forged between the merging parties and the Missouri Public Service Commission staff is currently being reviewed by the Missouri commissioners. Only the Kansas Corporation Commission (KCC) approval stands in the way of the merger’s completion, the company said.
