GISB Certifies Its First Standards Reviewer

Jim Buccigross, regulatory division manager of Boston-basedenergy consulting firm Skipping Stone Inc., is the energyindustry’s first Gas Industry Standards Board (GISB)-certifiedreviewer. Through GISB, Buccigross has the authority to review andcertify that a company’s software meets crucial criteria thatsupports GISB-set standards.

Cross Timbers Shakes Up Portfolio

Cross Timbers Oil Co. killed two birds with one stone recentlyas it sold $63.5 million of non-core assets in various RockyMountain and Midwest areas, then used the proceeds from the sale tobuy Lehman Brothers Holding’s 50% in Spring Holdings Co. The restof the proceeds from the sale were used to pay down debt, thecompany said when it revealed both transactions yesterday. CrossTimbers now owns 100% of Spring Holding Co.

Southwest Tells Southern Union to Put Up or Shut Up

Southwest Gas threw the latest stone in the battle surroundingits proposed merger with Oneok Inc. earlier this week, refusing togo along with a request from Carl Kunasek, the Arizona CorporationCommission (ACC) chairman, to allow rival suitor Southern Union(SU) to intervene in the ACC proceedings involving the merger.
