Enogex Holds Open Season for Woodford Shale Transportation

As natural gas production continues to grow in the Woodford Shale of southeastern Oklahoma, OGE Energy Corp. subsidiary Enogex Inc. is proposing new firm Section 311 natural gas interstate transportation service on the company’s intrastate pipeline system in the region. Enogex has opened a binding open season to solicit shipper interest in the plan.

Williams is holding an open season through Nov. 16 for firm transportation service on its Transco natural gas pipeline system to serve markets in the southeastern United States. New service from the Mobile Bay South Project is anticipated to be available in the spring of 2010, subject to Federal Energy Regulatory Commission approval. Williams said up to 700,000 Dth/d of firm transportation service will be offered on Transco’s Mobile Bay Lateral from Station 85 in Choctaw County, AL, to an existing interconnection with Gulfstream Natural Gas System in Mobile County, AL. The final project size, scope of facilities and cost will be determined by the results of the open season.

The final project size, scope of facilities and cost will be determined by the results of the open season. “This project will provide a timely and cost-effective way to move increasing supply at our Station 85 to markets in the Southeast,” said Phil Wright, president of Williams’ natural gas pipeline business. “There is more than 3 Bcf of upstream pipeline capacity proposed to connect to our Station 85 within the next several years, including Gulf South’s Southeast Expansion Project and Kinder Morgan’s Midcontinent Express. Plus our own Pascagoula Expansion Project is designed to bring almost 500 MMcf of supply to the region. Mobile Bay South is ideally situated to connect that supply to growing demand from local distribution companies and power generators in the Southeast.”

PECO Reports 17% Jump in Gas Demand in January, February

The extended cold during the first two months of this year drove up gas demand 17% in Philadelphia-based PECO’s service territory in southeastern Pennsylvania, the utility company said Friday. PECO said it has seen almost 400 more heating degree-days so far this winter as compared to last winter.

Enogex Inc. and Amarillo, TX-based producer Pablo Energy II LLC plan to gather and process natural gas from the Woodford Shale in southeastern Oklahoma through a new joint venture partnership, Atoka Midstream LLC, which is scheduled to begin operating in April.

Small Gas Producers Continue Pumping Away

Allenergy Inc. said it has equipped and put on pump eight of the 26 existing wells on its Ball Lease property, part of the company’s 960-acre AE Project Four in southeastern Kansas. Allenergy plans to have two additional wells pumping before the end of 2006, weather permitting.
