El Paso Pipeline Partners LP is buying an additional 25% stake in southeastern interstate pipeline system Southern Natural Gas Co. (SNG) from El Paso Corp., the parent of both companies, for a total of $667 million. The master limited partnership would own an 85% interest in SNG once the transaction closes. SNG’s throughput volumes in 4Q2010 were 2,542 billion Btu/d, compared with 2,329 billion Btu/d in the year-ago quarter. SNG’s 2010 volumes totaled 2,505 billion Btu/d versus 2009 volumes of 2,322 billion Btu/d.

Enbridge Project Would Sidestep Crowded Perryville

Enbridge Inc. is holding an open season for a new interstate pipeline from the company’s Carthage Hub in East Texas to an interconnect with Southern Natural Gas in southeastern Louisiana. One of the proposed LaCrosse Pipeline’s main selling points: it would bypass the gas-jam that some predict will be afflicting the popular Perryville Hub in North Louisiana where a number of east-bound projects are aimed, Enbridge said.

Enogex Holds Open Season for Woodford Shale Transportation

As natural gas production continues to grow in the Woodford Shale of southeastern Oklahoma, OGE Energy Corp. subsidiary Enogex Inc. is proposing new firm Section 311 natural gas interstate transportation service on the company’s intrastate pipeline system in the region. Enogex has opened a binding open season to solicit shipper interest in the plan.
